I grabbed a couple of very unappealing 80s blouses as I left the charity shop the other day - both of them for upcycling. I also took a couple of crochet lace doilies, maybe I can make them into lace collars? Anyway, the blouses are quite hideous really (and yes, I did wear such garments back in the day ... ) so watch out for my progress!

Well, really exciting news is that I have started volunteering in Peterborough. The wonderful team there have worked so hard to set up a sewing room and I will be helping them on Mondays doing repairs & upcycling of clothing.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have free reign with upcycling ideas & will be posting new makeovers regularly. If anyone out there has any good upcycling ideas, please let me know. THANK YOU. Karen xxx

I don't normally blog about offers but I thought this one was really good, although it does say it is limited so not sure how many of the sewing machines are available - if you take out an annual subscription to Craftseller magazine (details in the January 2015 issue shown above), you get one of the free mini John Lewis sewing machines when you give the code quoted in the magazine - I find this is a useful magazine as it looks at crafts from a business angle and this is a great offer

Do you, like me, treat New Year Resolutions as just one more To Do list? One of my major To Do projects is to sort out the photos on my laptop. I take so many photos, usually hundreds a week, when I am listing on etsy (less listings on ebay now!). Some of them I keep as they are so cute, like this photo of a vintage scarf showing some adorable little dogs above so thought I would share.
Hope your New Year is getting off to a good start.
